Delicious, authentic Turkish food

Tarla restaurant is a traditional taste of Turkey, set in the heart of Stevenage. We are a family-run restaurant, bringing our own local specialisms to the table and serving up fresh, authentic cuisine to our customers. All our food is inspired by the dishes we know and love from our hometown in Turkey.

Translated from Turkish, ‘Tarla’ means ‘fields’. Fields, wheat, and crops are signs of abundance and life. We hope our restaurant will bring us plenty of customers who can enjoy an abundance of delicious food cooked by Tarla’s Turkish chefs.

We truly believe that the environment we create is just as important as the food we serve; customer service is always a priority. From the moment you enter our restaurant, our team will make sure you feel welcome.

Many members of the team have experience as restauranteurs, gained from working in both the Turkish and UK hospitality industries. We have run a range of establishments, including 5* hotels with top-quality restaurants. We put this to good use when running Tarla – our front-of-house team offer an efficient and friendly service.

Our menu

Tarla is all about creating an authentic, rustic Turkish experience. Our menu is designed to give you a range of traditional options, with different dishes to suit various dietary requirements.

Fresh, locally sourced food

Freshness is key to the authentic flavours we create at Tarla. Every day, we cook fresh food sourced from local suppliers around Stevenage. All our meat is marinated daily on site, making it succulent and rich in flavour. We make all of our dishes, including mezes, on site – you won’t find any shop-bought hummus or tinned dolmades here!

We cook all our food using a wood charcoal mangal, a traditional open charcoal grill. It is located in the heart of our restaurant, so you can see your dish being prepared in front of you. It evokes a true flavour of Turkey, giving you that smoky, grilled taste you just can’t replicate at home.
